Good News

Dad was doing better than expected. They were able to manage his pain so he actually slept for a solid four hours, which he hasn't done in at least two years. He kept dozing off but was able to eat a good dinner. At this rate he should be able to go home in a few days. Hopefully with the pain properly managed, whatever time he has left will be reasonably pleasant, all things considered. I was glad to see him doing so well.
The hospice facility is so nice and the staff is wonderful. I think that having a good environment is very helpful too. Not the hustling around and all business of the hospital and a more pleasant setting than the nursing home that he has had to go to for rehab on previous occasions. He hates that place and I don't blame him.
Hope you all had a pleasant day. I know some of you have difficult circumstances and I hope you were able to find peace.
